These days, as more and more people move away from tradition, demand is growing for venues other than churches or crematorium chapels as places to hold a funeral ceremony.
Probably the most memorable and rewarding ceremony I had the privilege of conducting was held in a barn in the garden of the house of the person who had died. A small group of invited guests sat on bales of hay as the sun shone in through the open door. A group of local musicians played reflective and inspirational melodies. Family members and friends each took their turn to share special memories with those present.
At the end of the ceremony, as requested, we drove off slowly down the road. Everyone stood at the gate of the house waving, exactly as they had done hundreds of times before, each time the lady had gone to the shops, or out for a walk, until we were out of sight.
Such a simple, yet uniquely moving experience, gave the family concerned a huge amount of satisfaction and feeling of involvement, and at all times they had complete control over the arrangements, turning to me for practical advice and ideas as and when they wanted.
I can suggest venues for your ceremony to suit your needs, and help you to tailor a funeral to your specific requirements. Please contact me for more information.
